Here's some useful information to help racegoers get the most from their time at Bath Racecourse’s Dino Family Raceday on Sunday 15 September.

TIMES

Gates open at 12.00pm. There are seven exciting horse races taking place starting from 2.15pm. The last race is at 5.45pm.

As it’s our Dino Family Raceday, there is also a special inflatable T-Rex Race taking place at 1.30pm!

The family entertainment will run from 12.00pm – 5.00pm. Some activities take place at specific times – check out the event map for full details.

The event finishes at 6.00pm.

FAMILY ENTERTAINMENT

There is tons of family entertainment on Sunday. There’ll be appearances from a baby dinosaur, animatronic T-Rex and Raptor, ranger training workshops, Jurassic crafts, a giant sand pit, inflatables and face painters – all included as part of your entry ticket. There will also be some small fair rides, which will charge a small fee.

INFLATABLE T-REX RACE

As it’s our Dino Family Raceday, there is also a special inflatable T-Rex Race taking place at 1.30pm!

Anyone wanting to take place should email info@bath-racecourse.co.uk and must wear sensible clothing.

T-Rex Tea Party

A few places remain for you to upgrade to the T-Rex Tea Party. Adults and kids will both love tucking into a delicious afternoon tea of freshly-made sandwiches, cakes and scones (with a super special dinosaur-themed tea for the kids!). Plus, you'll have a reserved table in the Royal Crescent Restaurant for the whole event, raceday programmes and hospitality entry tickets.

Upgrade to the luxurious Royal Crescent Restaurant and enjoy a three-course a la carte meal prepared by our award-winning chefs, tea and coffee, raceday programme, hospitality admission and your private table reserved for the whole event.

TICKETS

General entry Grandstand Enclosure Tickets will be available on the gate costing £22.00 per person. Students and those aged 65+ will receive a £5 discount. Children aged under 18 are FREE!

You can save £3.00 on Grandstand Enclosure Tickets when these are booked in advance. Advance tickets close at midnight on Saturday 14 September.

 

COLLECTION

Pre-paid tickets that are being collected on Sunday need to be picked up from either the Ticket Collection Point or Hospitality Collection Point. Both turnstiles are located to the left of the owners and trainers entrance.

The turnstiles will be open throughout the evening for ticket collection or purchases.

WEATHER

The forecast for Sunday is for sunshine with temperatures up to 20 degrees. We advise you to dress with the weather in mind as this is an outdoor event.

FOOD & DRINK

A range of bars and food outlets are available serving hot and cold food and drink. As it’s a family fun day, picnics are allowed to be brought in the racecourse, with the exception of alcohol. 

Kids’ packed lunches will be available from the coffemakers café. 

DRESS CODE

There is no formal dress code for public areas of the racecourse, however most racegoers opt for smart-casual dress. Jeans, trainers and shorts are all acceptable, as is fancy dress if it will not cause offence to other racegoers. 

A smart dress code applies if you are in a hospitality area and there's a smart-casual dress code if you have a Roof Garden ticket. 

RACING

There are seven races starting from 2.15pm and finishing at 5.45pm. 

The going is currently: Firm. 

The feature races of the afternoon are the two Value Rater Racing Club Sprints & Stayers Series Finals, both with £20,000 of prize money available.

RACEDAY PROGRAMME

Pick up your raceday programme on entry for just £3.00. The raceday programme includes all the details you need to select your horse in each race, racecourse map and other useful information to help you get the most from your day. 

BETTING GUIDE

If you chose to have a flutter at the races there are a number of places across the racecourse to place a bet.

HOW TO FIND US

We're located north of Bath City centre and are easily accessed from Bristol and the M4.

There is a shuttle bus service to the racecourse from Manvers Street, adjacent from Bath Spa train station. The buses leave Bath at 12.00pm, 12.45pm, 1.30pm and 2.15pm. Return buses depart from the racecourse at 5.10pm, 5.55pm and 6.40pm

Return tickets cost £5.00 per person. Under 12s are free.

FREE PARKING

Parking at the racecourse is free.

Cars can only be left overnight in designated areas (and at your own risk). You must alert the parking attendant to avoid being towed. 

SECURITY

We take security and safety very seriously. There will be a strong security presence and you will be subject to a bag search on arrival.

Please be patient and limit the bags you bring. Remember, no alcohol can be brought into the racecourse.

We ask all racegoers to not leave bags unattended and to report anything suspicious to a member of staff.
