The racecourse’s ‘Lansdown Live’ - a series of live entertainment which will run on race days throughout the spring and summer months - is set to present a prime opportunity for budding performers to showcase their talents in front of a jam-packed crowd on some of the busiest days in the racing calendar.
Sounds Commercial has joined as an Official Business Partner to the racecourse, putting its name to Sounds Commercial Lansdown Live. But it is more than a regular sponsorship agreement as Sounds Commercial provide their expertise in event production and utilise their connections within the music industry to build the grass roots of music within the South West.
“We have already been working within the community to help support the grass roots of music and are well placed as a company to be able to do that.” Explained Operations Director, Kieran Murphy.
“When the racecourse approached us with their vision for Lansdown Live we were really excited. We’re very well placed as an organisation to not only sponsor something like this, but to really add some value and help to grow the project and provide real opportunities for aspiring musicians.
“We already work within the community to support young and under-privileged talent in the South West and its great to be working with the racecourse to generate further opportunities.”
Sounds Commercial Project Manager, Robbie Ashdown brings with him 15 years’ experience developing talent as a former A&R at Universal Island Records, and as a Show Designer and Tour Manager to some of the world’s leading artists, from aspiring talent to festival headliners.
“I am delighted to be working with Bath Racecourse on Lansdown Live. It's a great opportunity for up-and-coming musicians to showcase their skills.” Robbie said.
“I am confident we will find some real undiscovered talent and I am excited to be able to help these aspiring artists on their road to success.”
Bath Racecourse Sales & Marketing Manager, Maddie Difazio-Wright believes ‘Lansdown Live’ will provide a brilliant race-day experience at Bath, while also supporting the grassroots music scene in the South West.
“We have a focus on entertainment this year at the racecourse and we want to ensure that guests coming to the races up on Lansdown have a fantastic experience throughout their visit.
“Live music is a key part of the experience and we are thrilled to have Sounds Commercial on board to help us grow our entertainment vision. When we met with Sounds Commercial we immediately knew that they would be an ideal fit for Lansdown Live, not only giving them a great platform for sponsorship but they have the expertise to help take the initiative forwards.”
The Sounds Commercial Lansdown Live Series kicked off with performances on Good Friday, including Bristol based recording artists Billy Kinnison-Cook and Sam Fox and will see many artists play live at the racecourse on racedays throughout the year.
