Venue Etiquette

There is no formal dress code for general admission ticket holders at Bath Racecourse, however we encourage smart casual dress and discourage sportswear. There is a formal dress code for hospitality packages and the Roof Garden.

For Roof Garden Tickets

The dress code for this area is smart casual. With smart denim and tailored shorts being acceptable whilst denim with rips or tears, denim shorts or sportswear are not permitted.

For Grandstand Ticket Guests

We encourage you to adhere to the smart casual dress code. Smart denim and tailored shorts are acceptable whilst denim with rips or tears, denim shorts and sportswear are discouraged.  Fancy dress is permitted providing it is not considered offensive to other racegoers or children.

For Hospitality, Restaurant Guests and Owners & Trainers

We encourage smart attire; gentlemen are asked to wear a smart shirt, although a tie is not essential. Smart denim with no rips or tears and long, tailored shorts are acceptable. No sports or denim shorts, T-shirts, vests, sports or supporter shirts, tracksuits, sportswear (including trainers) or bare chests. Gentlemen’s flip flops or sandals are also not permitted.

Ladies Day at Bath Raceourse

For Ladies Day

On our feature race days, race-goers enjoy dressing smartly for the occasion and on Ladies Day many ladies wear hats – which although not obligatory, is still great fun!
Bath Racecourse reserves the right to refuse admission to anyone who is considered inappropriately dressed.
 
Is parking free and can I leave my car overnight?
 
Car parking at Bath Racecourse is free and plentiful. If you wish to leave your car overnight, please inform the parking stewards on your arrival and be aware that this is done so at your own risk. As our car park is a golf course, the stewards will direct you outside of any flying golf balls the next day.
 
Can children come racing?
 
Bath Racecourse welcomes children and families. All under 18-year olds are welcome if accompanied by a responsible adult. Please note that up to four under 18-year olds can be accompanied by one responsible adult. Dispensation is granted for organised groups but advanced booking is essential. Do you offer concessions?
 
Senior Citizens and students, with valid ID, will receive £5 off Grandstand entrance tickets on the day.
 
Can I bring my own food & drink?
 
Picnics are allowed in the Centre Course Enclosure or in the main car parks before, after or during racing. However, please note that you cannot bring food and drink into the Grandstand enclosure.
 
Can I bring a dog?
 
With the exception of Guide Dogs of the Blind, dogs are not permitted to enter the racecourse. In the interests of animal welfare, no dogs are permitted to be left in cars and Bath Racecourse politely request that all dogs are left at home.
 
Can I take photographs?
 
At all meetings we ask you to ensure that no flash photography takes place near the horses. Otherwise you are welcome to take photographs for personal non-commercial use only. During live music and entertainment, the artists' management retain all image rights. Any photographer that is felt to be impeding or contravening these rights without accreditation and prior written consent will be requested to leave and escorted from the premises. You cannot take images for commercial purposes without prior permission from the racecourse office and provision of press accreditation. Matthew Webb provides a professional and reliable service photographing all aspects of the day’s racing.

Professional filming and photography takes place here at Bath for various publications and broadcasting and race goers (including families) consent to being filmed, photographed and otherwise recorded by Bath Racecourse or any third party authorised by Bath Racecourse. You grant Bath Racecourse and any third party authorised by Bath Racecourse the right to broadcast, publish, licence and use any photographs, film, recordings or images of you without payment or other compensation in any promotional literature produced by Bath Racecourse.
