The British Horseracing Authority (BHA) has today confirmed that due to continued challenges with the ground at Bath, the racecourse’s remaining fixtures will be transferred to allow for full remedial work.

As you may well have seen, Britain has suffered one of the hottest and driest summers on record, which has had a huge impact on the racing surface here at Bath.  Unlike at other racecourses, we are unable to water our track to keep it in raceable condition, and the ongoing dry weather has left it unfit for racing for a number of weeks.

Recent rainfall has been welcome, but the damage done earlier in the summer has simply meant that we will not be in a position to race before the end of the season.

We appreciate that this has been another season of significant disruption to the racing programme at Bath, and our focus now is on working to repair the track ahead of next year.

We are incredibly grateful for your ongoing support of Bath Racecourse.

We would like to wish you all the best and will be in touch with more updates regarding racing here at Bath in due course.
