Sprint And Stayers Finals Round Off A Great Series

The Sprint and Stayers Series Finals provided a fantastic conclusion to this year’s series at Bath, with both races producing popular winners despite the rather foggy conditions on Sunday.

The Stayers Final saw Boilermaker complete a hat trick for Harry Charlton and Luke Morris, landing the £40,000 contest as the 11/8 favourite. The fog made visibility challenging at times, but it certainly didn’t dampen the spirits of the winning connections, with Boilermaker showing plenty of determination to hold off The Craftymaster by a neck.

The Sprint Final produced more of an upset, with Rinky Tinky Tinky coming through at 16/1 under Alice Bond to beat the well fancied Legendsoftheland by half a length. It was a great result for connections and a really competitive finish to the series, with 17 runners going to post.

It was particularly pleasing to see both finals attract such strong fields and to be able to reward the horses and connections who have supported the series throughout the season with such valuable prize money. One favourite and one outsider taking the honours made for a nice balance, and both winners were thoroughly deserving.

Although the fog made for a rather atmospheric afternoon, it certainly didn’t take away from what was a very enjoyable conclusion to the series. Hopefully the Sprint and Stayers competitions will continue to grow and provide plenty more exciting racing here at Bath in the seasons ahead.
